Tthis was not B0rG Blitz, but it is the most relevant screen shot I have in my more recent files to a How To question by one of our newer prospects.

This is actually not to bad of a spot when theres a small crowd on the server, as you would usually have people respawning nearby that would provide some protection.

As I said elsewhere, on non spawnkilling servers, any heavy weapons near the spawns will draw extra attention and criticism. Be prepared to defend yourself. Learning how to record a demo and screen shots may be your only defense if someone takes exception to your methods and decides to ban you on a well liked server.

Can you lob a round into G5 on that map
from where this mortar is positioned?
Once the bank doors are blasted, almost
all Axis rush through G5, and with a little
timing, you can wip out lots of Axis in this area.
G5 is the place I was talking about in Gold Rush.
Imagine being a major with fast reload time...
you could drop rounds all over F5 and G5
with devastating effect. (need lots of players though)

You will not see the arrow, but you SHOULD see the target thingy.
I see where every shot lands EXCEPT the last one in the
ammo inventory. By the way, you can load up at an ammo
station thingy with up to 16 rounds, more than what you spawn with.
Also, keep in mind that some Field Ops are a little reluctant to give
ammo to a mortarman because it depletes their inventory BIG time.

The bullseye is where its falling at. You may have been firing off the map. It happens sometimes. I like to start at 90 degrees if I'm not sure whats where, then judge from there when I see what I'm hitting.

@ Engage, I like to hide in that mg nest at C5 with my headphones on and volume high. Axis often run past without seeing me between shots. Just have to listen for incoming.

Raises their xp fast though. I've promised quick xp for helping me

The blue/red/yellow arrow I put there to show where the mortar was parked at. If its you taking the screen theres a dot, if you spec someone and take the screen you don't get the extras.

o.0 Glad to help. I wasn't thinking this would do much.
Mostly it was the tiny bit I had that I could add to to give you ideas.

I had something far more involved in mind. I'll still work on it, but it'll be a little while.

Again, glad it gave you ideas

Once again, the mortar can be deadly in Fuel Dump.
Has your Allies team ever been pushed back so bad by
the Axis where you couldn't even get close to the bridge?
It seems like they are swarming all over the bridge area.
It is SOOOOOO satisfying to take out several of them,
including a Rambo Medic or two, with one or two
well-placed rounds....then see two Engineers build the
bridge real quick. But once the Axis see that you
are kicking their butts, they usually come around
the hill looking for you. But that's a GOOD thing
because it takes them away from the bridge.

More in the Fuel Dump map.....
If you can move up from the spawn shack to the left of
the big hill next to a tree, 1/2 way to the bridge,
you can actually lob mortar rounds behind the machine
gun tower and all in that area. (where snipers and
Artillery whores hide) Just be careful because Axis
in the tunnel can see you, and I have been stabbed
in the back a few times there too.

An allied mortar can climb the hill behimd the ammo and medic suply shack near first spawn, and aim towards the axis spawn exit, the top of the mg hill, and around axis command post from there. Up on hte hill can be more difficult in some ways as you're angling down and firing almost straight at them. I once blew a sniper out of the mg tower that way without realizing ., I'll never get that perfect an angle again on intentionally :???:

And one more thing to remember...when you are zeroed in on the
enemy, let your charge bar go up. Then, when you launch a round,
and if you hit someone, wait 2 seconds and launch another one!.
Sometimes a medic will come to revive the player you hit, then
get blasted when reviving him by your 2nd round. This is
especially true when playing with lots of people.

I've mortared from those hills many times. It's cool to hit the
landmines that a Covert Op spots near the dump area.
Then wait 30 seconds and hit that same spot again and
hit an Engineer planting mines in the same spot!
And when you get high XP, you can see the Axis on the map
and drop rounds right on their heads. BUT... I have also
launched rounds and then watched my teammates race into the
dump area and there's nothing you can do while the round
is dropping down on THEIR heads. In fact, it was one of the
worst Team Killing I have ever done, in Fuel Dump,
I took out 5 in one shot. I saw it coming and started cussing
and I actually quit the server I felt so bad. I didn't
want to hear the complaint filed against me. So if you are
lobbing rounds, watch your teammates closely and see what
they are doing beforehand.
