The Splash Damage crew (the developers) swear these are "clean" (un-doctored) in game screen shots.

Not sure they have that nailed down. I know it will be steep thought.

Stick with a nvidia GT card.
And make sure you have lots of RAM.
But all the above would suck if you have a
Pentium II

Heres the one ive been lookin at. Its a little cheaper. Looks about the same except for your core clock is alot faster, and it has more pixel pipelines.

On 1 of the reviews it said sometin about it has to warmup, and when it does it plays good. You ever have that prob?
It's not a very good high-end gaming card, Bondai.
As for my 7800GT, I don't know what that guy is talking about.
And the 7300 is 64 bit, whereas the 7800 is 128 bit, and has
faster DDR3 ram. You may have problems with the 7300
running Quake Wars.

Yes, the 7800 costs more, but it's come way down
since I bought mine... I paid like $169, and that was on sale.

And eVGA makes very good cards, so you can't
go wrong there.

Well I know my rig won't have any problems handling the game. It's just a year old, AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ 2.41 Ghz, 2GB DDR Ram, 2 NVidia 7800GT 256MB in SLI Configuration. My biggest problem is my eyes, everyone owns me now even after all the playing time I have in, that's why I don't play so much these days, it gets very frustrating.

As long as the card supports the directx10 anything will go

As far as the quake wars goes, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to play it, even if I may have to keep some settings down a ways. More often then not I don't turn things up too high in ET, even though I can with no short term problems. Long term, my machine starts getting hot sooner or later and theres absolutely nothing I can do to improve that right now beyond oepning the windows maybe and letting winter help me out :???: Not really the greatest idea.

Games make my eyes, and my hands sore. I'm used to the eyes though. Every blood relative I have seems to wear glasses by age ten.

Hot computers can be cooled (cheaply), i found it odd that almost no PC builder does offer u extra cooling when u buy one, mine has 8 fans and it only costed me only 27!! euro more. The gfx load on QW will be (as supposed by some people who know their stuff) less then on ET only the usage of mem will increase thats why an 128mb card is minimum(not shared btw), but its all guess work we will see when it is released.
Some games will have a demand for shadowtexture rendering that only fairly new cards can provide (like the 7900 or higer version of nvidia) and i dunno of QW will use that teqnique aswell, if so a lot of people will be dissapointed as the game simply wont run. I do know that QWET will support the new directx10 for Vista so that sounds promising
